A beast with no name
The Video series was primarily focused on horror, media consumption and addiction, loneliness and alienation.
The project began mostly with paintings and prints, however soon changed to centre on a performance. The paintings were inspired by the media I was consuming at the time, the body horror films of David Cronenberg, Dario Argento, Shinya Tsukamoto. The body horror of these films are there to shock the audience, but are also, often used to punctuate stories of loneliness, alienation and a lack of identity.
Performance: "A master with no name"

This performance was done on the 3rd of June 2023, the night photos were taken on a different date.
The June 3rd performance took place in the Stow College building in Glasgow School of Art, and then to a nearby housing estate. I began my performance in my Degree Show space in the Stow building.
I wore a costume that was constructed using repurposed leather, curtains, a veil and other fabrics, spring-loaded jumping stilts, and a steel frame holding a portable projector. The costume was inspired by the history of video making, and projected motion pictures. The early films of Eadweard Muybridge, particularly The Horse in Motion (1878), heavily influenced the costume's design.
